Trace of life XX
By Agnes Lau
This series of works is created based on the context to seek for the balance of life in this impermanent and imperfect world. The individual shapes of the ceramic are inspired from the forms of the bitten holes on the leaves. Each shape tracks down a life and together they form a life path. The artist embraced the concept of ‘Wabi-Sabi’ in her work, which is a practice of finding the beauty of imperfection, and of accepting the natural cycle of growth, decay and death, learning that we all return to dust from which we came.
